Kenny Faught, Pastor
Kenny was born in Richmond, Kentucky, and grew up
in the nearby small town of Irvine. He is a graduate of Cumberland College,
where he majored in religion and minored in philosophy. He received the
Master’s and Doctoral degrees from The New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and
studied Advanced Methodist History, Theology, and Polity at Duke Divinity
School. He was ordained an Elder in the Holston Conference in 2007.
Dr. Faught became pastor at St. Mark on July 1, 2015. He has served churches in
Kentucky, Louisiana, Ohio, and Tennessee, including four congregations in the
Knoxville and Oak Ridge Districts (Pleasant Hill, LaFollette, Cokesbury, and
St. Mark). He also taught pastoral theology for ten years at the college level.
Kenny is married to Chrissy (Powers) Faught, who is an
English teacher, and has three children (Jessica, Josh, and Sarah Grace) and three
grandchildren (Seth, Liam, and Ezra). Sarah Grace is an elementary school student in the Knox County Schools.. Kenny enjoys classical guitar, the outdoors, the
Tennessee Vols, and (some years) Cincinnati Reds baseball. He is always eager
to talk with you about your relationship with Jesus and your interest in St.
TYLER OWENS, MUSIC DIRECTOR & Rachel Owens, Choristers Director
Tyler has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Carson Newman and recently graduated with a Master's Degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Tennessee. At UT he had the opportunity to lead all of the UT choirs. He has served as an intern Music Director at Cokesbury United Methodist Church. We are blessed to have Tyler and his wife Rachel, both of whom teach music in the Maryville schools, on our team. Rachel directs our Choristers music program.
Paula Sandoval, Youth Director
Paula graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan and Hiwassee Colleges where she majored in Christian Education and minored in Music. She has 24 years of experience in working with youth. Before coming to St. Mark she served Beaver Ridge UMC and Bookwalter UMC in Knoxville, TN, Wesley UMC in Aurora, IL., Trinity UMC in Athens, TN, and Alcoa UMC in Alcoa, TN. She has a love and passion for Christ which she seeks to convey to the youth through a variety of programs and activities.
Paula and her husband Juan Carlos have two children, Katherine and Brandon. She loves to travel, watch Brandon play soccer, and work with youth! One of her favorite Bible verses is: 1 Timothy 4:11, “Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but be an example for the believers, in your speech, your conduct, your love, faith, and purity.”
Travis CampbelL, Children's DIRECTOR
Travis is a Tennessee native and has been a member of St Mark for the past five years. He graduated from South Doyle High School and went on to get his Bachelors from the University of Tennessee in Anthropology with a minor in Geography. He is proud of his accomplishment of achieving the Eagle Scout Rank and he currently serves as an assistant scoutmaster for Troop 147. Travis spends his time caring for his two children Audrey and Wesley, camping, hiking, watching movies, listening to music, and his other passion, cooking. He gets to cook daily at his other employer, Parkwest Medical Center.
Edward Pierce, Church Musician
Edward has been a church musician since he was in middle
school and his dad was his home church's choir director. In addition to being
an amazingly versatile and engaging musician on the organ, piano and keyboard,
Edward teaches fifth-grade at Sequoyah Elementary School. He is married to
Jessica and dad to Julia and Elliott.
Liz Mann, Office Manager
Liz is a native Knoxvillian, born
and raised here. She completed a Bachelor of
Science degree in Organizational Management at Tusculum College. She has served as a financial loan officer in the banking industry.
Liz and her husband Scott have two children
– Cooper and Copelyn. She adores her family and, like
most moms, would do anything for her children. A true East Tennessean, Liz can
be found at Neyland Stadium on Saturdays cheering for the Vols. Liz is a
devout Christian who puts her faith first.
